Hey! The mammogram was really fast, the tech very good at the job, and I was out of the office in no time! Just need to get the results! Since the doctor has me on blood pressure meds, I go there every six months and she is really gung ho for the proper tests, so I go! B finished the molding while I was gone, and it looks really nice! Our house is really old, built in the 50s, so it will never be as showy as the newer homes, but it's been our home for over 40 years, and any improvement to it is a real bonus for us! It desperately needed/s work! Lol, our local handyman is a really strange guy, does lots of odd jobs, and he's been helping out for years. Ditto, the wallpaper is beautiful, I couldn't picture the lanterns pattern in my mind until I saw it! Very pretty! Will you be able to hang it yourself, or get some help from family? We'll need pics when you get it done! Pluto, I hope the visit goes good, both with your sister, and to your mom. Did A enjoy her ballet lesson? Rainbow, the training sounds like a good deal, and nice looking guys are always a plus! What's up in London? Deedee, the doctor's appointment seems to have covered all the things you needed! It's funny how one doctor will prescribe what you need, and fairly simple meds, and Ditto's won't even help her! I hope all helps you in the long run. Teebs, love the FB pics! The kids seem to have had a really good day! They are such cuties! PK, I hope you're doing better, and able to post with us soon! Lol, little rain last night, woke up with a 20 degree temp drop...walked around turning off the AC, and we have the heaters on! Probably won't last long, but that's ok! Take care all...hugs!

Good morning Terrible night with lack of sleep. Wonder if it was because I had my first coffee in a week yesterday. It was decaf though. I have been sleeping so much better whilst off the coffee. The wind was howling too and the window was rattling! Had a lovely lunch with mu sister and we went through old photos which she then took into mu. Mum was chatty and loved them. I will go today and see her. She can only cope with one visitor at a time. Very busy today and H is off to Bournemouth on her belated staff C'mas 'do'. Spa hotel, dinner and treatments all paid by the manager!! I'll have Antonia over night for the first time. She co sleeps with H so I'll have to sleep in her bed. A had to take Antonia out of the class when she was misbehaving too much but she settled later. She wasn't the only one. Must buy a Valentine card too M, I'd love to see a picture of your house. Is it a one storey wooden one? I like older properties though mine is past it's best at the moment. Hope everyone is ok and coping in the high winds. There are flood alerts too. Have a good day all

Hello all from a very blustery Cheshire. Storm Erik raged all night, scary for me. Omgoodness P, you put me to shame. I'm only just up and not even ready, Mum is still snoring, we're so sedentary now, we hibernate for the winter and aren't much better in the summer! Glad your Mum liked the photos, she doesn't seem to have lost any of her marbles does she? A hoot M. The council house we grew up in was a 100 years old back then, I would be thinking of a house built in the 50s as nearly new. I could do with your handyman, wouldn't be bothered how weird he was s'long as he could do all my jobs! I'm hoping son-in-law will do my papering, it's pretty straightforward drops. Nephew is doing the painting for me but is no good at papering. Back in the day Deb and Daph would have had entire flat done and dusted by last November, but we're all old and crook now, it's pitiful. Forgot to say, I get through a couple of books a week, plus I do my 'reading routine' nightly if possible. I have a tower of books I only read one spread of as I can't stand more than that, no attention span, plus they're boring or difficult, ie I got through the Odysey like that, takes ages but I've found the info stays with you, whereas a Stephen King I read in one sitting is forgotten the next day which I don't mind, I'll just read it again after a bit. I've forgotten what else I was gonna say! Have a brilliant Saturday y'all.

Lovely visit with my mum. She was very chatty and enjoyed looking at her wedding photo's from 1955. It's just me and Antonia now!
I'd love to be able to wallpaper. Your place will look gorgeous when done Ditto. My house was built in 1926 so is getting on for 100 years.

Hello! Took me 30 minutes to top up my phone tonight but had to persevere as wanted to let y'all know I was still in the land of the living! And pay some bills, boo! Really hard to hit just one key at a time but am loads better now. My knee is still sore but not exactly a painful, although I haven't been trying to stand properly so maybe shouldn't speak too soon.
D is up in your neck of the woods this weekend Ditto, visiting a friend.

Good to see that you have managed to check in PK Rainbow, meant to ask if you have watched Grey's yet. I'm enjoying the David Bowie programme but don't think I will stay awake for all of it.

Hey! A PK visit! It's good to see you on here, and I'm glad that the knee doesn't seem to have sustained a lasting injury! Hope those fingers loosen up a bit so you do things a bit easier... Pluto, good memories for your mom to share and think about! I bet it was nice to see her enjoy them! I love old pics, but can spend so much time on them...sometimes they make me laugh, sometimes cry! I hope you and A had a fun 'girls' night' ! Rainbow, glad you had such a good day in London! What did you all do? Ditto, I told B what you said about the ages of the houses and building you lived in...he said he was glad he didn't have to renovate them, lol! I say how old our house is, this is an older neighborhood, but many of the older homes were tore down and rebuilt with the more up to date electric and safety codes...probably cheaper in the long run! You do read a lot! I do, too, but I read a lot of romance books, not heavy stuff, mixed in with some really good mysteries, and supernatural/fantasy. With the Kindle, I get a lot of freebies, usually first books in a series, and I like that cos I don't have to really buy anything to get a sample of how the author writes. I have a couple of favorite authors...Jill Shalvis writes really sweet romance, and Lori Foster usually writes really strong male characters that I like. All about the fantasy, lol! Teebs, missed you on here today! I hope you're out doing fun stuff, and keeping warm! Gabe is over, we went out for our usual Chinese buffet, and we're going to watch something on Netflix soon! It was really sweet, I found a list online that listed all the things a teen should know how to do: write a thank you note, introduce yourself, sew a button...practical stuff, and we discussed each of the points, deciding to work on some of them over the summer...cooking a bit, and getting to know someone by asking interested questions. (He needs that last one, cos it's hard for him to make conversation.) Take care all...hugs!

Morning alls. Not sure what the weather's doing, I've not pulled back the curtains yet! Woke early by CheekyCat and got the urge to sort photos so here I am. Will be visiting daughter later as it's Sunday. She's been wearing a heart monitor and has to take it back to the hospital today. She's been having funny turns of all kinds but can't break through her depression enough to get back to healthy eating. I feel I need to lead by example so when offered the curry and rice today I must refuse and ask for fish and vegetables. It's gonna kill me. I'm watching Fat Arabs. Kuwait now has the same problem as Bahrain, so rich so now so fat and diabetic. I saw that list M. I feel that some basic education is missed out for today's young ones. Bring back Victorian education I say! Well, maybe not quite Victorian but going down that route. Bring back History and Geography and Domestic Science for definite plus RE. Bring back hanging and the birch! Sorry, got carried away. Have a lovely Sunday all. Daphne, Deb's eldest lad Nicholas, Deborah, Mum Dorothy 84, latest addition baby Freya, the happiest baby I've ever known!

Good Morning Not a bad sleep though I had to move Antonia twice in the night as she was pushing me out of bed. M that is such a good idea to do with Gabe. Curriculums nowadays are so chockablock that there is no room for practical matters. Ditto try and be strong for H. I bet the fish and veg will be tasty Will you go to the hospital with her? Carry on healing PK See you later Rainbow Chinese feast at a friend's house

Agh, I want a Chinese feast! I am having the fish and veg but at the bungalow, brother to crook to come out till tomorrow so I will go with H to her hospital appointment. It'll be all go, Mondays my day for the wash'ouse. I'll just do some bedding and hang it over the doors to dry, the heatings on whether I'm there or not so it'll be toasty asap. We're watching Shanghai Nights, Jackie Chan and the nice blond guy with the funny nose. I've gotten so lazy I've taken to steaming all my food. Some of it comes out rather flaccid ie sossies but tastes okay and I don't have to mess about, it just dings and is done. Plus healthy. I could eat the hind leg off a donkey. A sounds just like Tilly-Rose, Deb ends up on the edge of the bed as Tilly is a limpet.

Hey!
Quiet day, B put a beef roast in the slow cooker, so there wasn't a lot I had to do! Last night with Gabe was fun, we watched a show on Netflix called Nailed It, and we were rolling with laughter, very funny hostess, and contestants who evidently have zero skills in the kitchen! Is it on in UK?
Ditto, good for you with the better food choice...B and I are up and down with our weight loss attempts. We go for days doing really well, and then completely lose ourselves in some sweet! Right now it's king cake season, and they are every where, and it's hard to resist! Nice photo on here and on FB! Good luck with the washing!
Pluto, and Rainbow, I hope you enjoyed the Chinese feast! Work friend?
Teebs, PK, and Deedee, I hope you all are doing ok and post soon!
Take care all...hugs!

Sounds a hoot though. Antonia helped with floor washing, vacuuming and making biscuits yesterday but it was good to hand her back to mummy when she came home from her trip.
