BG was a good show, not that I could see it often, only when it was on Sky 3 for a bit.
Buffy and Angel's James Marsters--who appeared last year in Season Two of Torchwood to boot--has been cast in a multiple-episode story arc on Syfy's upcoming Battlestar Galactica prequel series Caprica. Marsters, who is slated to appear in at least three installments, will play Barnabus Greeley, a dangerous terrorist leader who is described as being "driven by desires both moralistic and carnal" and is "as lethal as he is unpredictable." Caprica premieres January 22nd on Syfy.
Televisionary
James Marsters to play recurring role on Caprica August 19, 8:26
According to Michael Ausiello, who has exclusive confirmation, James Marsters will be joining the cast of theBattlestar Galactica prequel, Caprica, in a recurring role.
Marsters will play a dangerous terrorist leader by the name of Barnabus Greeley in a minimum of three episodes. Driven by desires both moralistic and carnal, Barnabus is as lethal as he is unpredictable,”reports Ausiello.
Marsters is well known for his prominent role as Spike in the Joss Whedon series Buffy and Angel. This sometimes evil, sometimes good (when it's in his own best interests) vampire, gives Marsters history with a complicated carnal character that was full of surprises. His sci-fi/fantasy credentials also include a brief stint on the BBC series Torchwood, playing Brainiac on Smallville and reading for the Dresden Files audiobooks. Marsters also has numerous voice acting roles on several superhero cartoons, and one-shot appearances on shows such as Andromeda, Saving Grace, and Millenium. Marsters has recently appeared in the Dragonball Evolution movie as well as the History Channel’s Moonshot and will be in the upcoming SyFy movie High Plains Invaders

According to a blurb I read yesterday (but can't find again *sigh*), Sky 1 have bought Caprica , no air dates for the UK yet but they'll be showing the 2 hour pilot to lead into the series ...good job as it costs a fortune to buy !

Sky 1 does have something like i player Dee Dee , but you either have to be a subscriber to Sky 1 , or join and pay a monthly fee of £15 , and even as a subscriber they still charge you to watch any new single episodes of your favourite series that you may have missed i remember being outraged that they wanted to charge a couple of quid to watch an ep of Fringe that I'd missed !

Peeps have only got themselves to blame. If we or some of us are willing to pay to watch and have to watch the adverts too then we're all bonkers. ::spits on Murdoch:: It should be either/or like Beeb/ITV.
Deb's back on Sky so I'll record it once I figure out how to do the SkyPlus thingy.

Found this article on 'Cinemaspy'
Is 'Caprica' on the Verge of Cancellation?
When the announcement came that there would be a Battlestar Galactica spin-off series entitled Caprica — which would chart both the society and the evolution of the Cylons on the titular planet some 50 years before Battlestar — many fans were excited at the possibilities. The pilot, however, never quite seemed to gel for some of us; continuing much of the same dark, philosophical navel-gazing that many felt had marred the first part of Battlestar Galactica's final season.
The announcement last month that Buffy alum James Marsters would be guest-starring as a dangerous terrorist leader by the name of Barnabus Greeley for at least three episodes buoyed anticipation for many, but now it seems as though any optimism may be premature. A trusted industry insider informed CinemaSpy on Saturday that production faces suspension on Caprica due to serious script problems/shortfalls, and that the future of the series may well be in jeopardy. From what we've been told, the producers haven't been altogether happy with the caliber of the stories.
Frankly, this came as a bit of a shock to us. Moreover, we should point out that we've been unable to corroborate the information independently. However, our source is well placed within the Vancouver film production community; in a position to know; and has been 100 percent accurate with information in the past.
If true, we hope this is only a temporary glitch, because we believe that the concept for Caprica is strong, and that the tone of the pilot wasn't necessarily a fair measure by which to judge the tone of a forthcoming series—changes are often commonplace once a show ramps up for production.
Meanwhile, we'll keep you posted on any further developments if and when we get them.

Bringing this over from MTS posted by Deb W on 13th Sept and in response to what appears to be a somewhat blind 'industry insiders' perception that filming is being suspended
'Well Jane Espenson is tweeting that it's going well
Quote Caprica moving ahead so fast! Eps nine, ten, eleven, twelve on their way... thirteen taking shape! Season one is gonna be all wrote up!
43 minutes ago from web
Quote Once we reach eighteen, I mean. But, seriously, it's going so quickly. 42 minutes ago from web
So a pinch of salt for the rumours till we know more I think

But there is also this, from Airlock Alpha
"I'm one of the producers and I'm absolutely thrilled with the work my writers have done," Espenson told Airlock Alpha.
There is a possibility that production could in fact shut down, but not for the reasons that recently plagued the ABC series "V." In fact, the shutdown really has nothing to do with the show itself. It has more to do with the fact that Vancouver, B.C., where "Caprica" is filmed, will soon be overrun by international athletes in town for the 2010 Winter Olympics.
"The Olympics might require a couple scheduling adjustments," Espenson said. "Those are probably being misunderstood."
